Part-Time Courses
We offer an exciting range of flexible, part-time courses through our Vocational & Employee Skills Development, Core Skills and Community Education teams. These courses range from non-accredited to QQI Level 1-5 awards and take place on campus and at community partner locations across East Clare.
This 20-week course will equip you with the relevant knowledge, skills and competencies to work effectively as a Tour Guide. On this course you will learn how to plan and implement themed tour itineraries, demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Irish and regional culture and develop a range of communication, information and customer care skills.
Progression / Employment Opportunities
On successful completion of this QQI Level 6 Minor Award course, you’ll have the skills to work as a Tour Guide in the tourism industry.

On this 9 month afternoon course you will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the study of history and an understanding of the nature and use of historical evidence. Learners will develop analytical, critical and historical skills such as the ability to locate and extract information from primary and secondary sources. The course will cover a period from the arrival of early settlers to Ireland up to World War 2.
